Standard text messaging is limited to text only, with the ability to send multimedia content through MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service). Read Receipts:
RCS supports read receipts, which allow users to see when their message has been read by the recipient. This feature is not available in standard text messaging, but may be found in proprietary messaging apps.
