PageGate Global Connectors Setup Transcript
for Video:
Welcome to the tutorial on how to configure the
Global Connector settings in PageGate.
The first step is to run the PageGate Admin,
so go to your start menu, go to Programs, find
the PageGate program group, and left click on
PageGate Admin.
Once in the Admin, left click on the + next to
Connectors.
Then left click on the + next to Global and go
to Settings.
Here in the Global Connector settings, you'll
see these four options.
The Polling Interval is the number of seconds
that the connectors check for new data from the
scheduler. By default, it does this every 5 seconds
but you can set it as low as every second if you
prefer.
Next we have The Dial Threshold. This value represents
the number of messages that a single connector
will attempt to handle before passing the extra
messages to the next connector in the sequence.
This value is only referenced if you're using
multiple connectors.
For example, let's say we have three connectors,
our Dial Threshold is 20, and we schedule 60 messages.
Connector 1 will take 20 of them, connector 2
will take 20 of them, and Connector 3 will take
20 of them.
Next is Retries. This is the number of attempts
the program will make to deliver a message before
failing the message or passing it to the Failover
system. For more information on how to configure
the Failover system, please watch the Failover
Configuration tutorial on our website, www.notepage.net
Below that, we have Retry Interval. This is the
number of seconds PageGate will wait between connection
attempts. By default, this is set to 30 seconds
but you can set this as low as 1 second if you
wish.
After setting your Global Connector preferences,
left click on Apply.
This concludes the tutorial on how to configure
the Global Connector settings in PageGate. For
