What is WebGate
| |
WebGate is a sophisticated wireless messaging (paging) application. The heart of the application is a high throughput paging engine that has the ability to support multiple dialers (modems), direct cable connections, and internet email for message delivery.
WebGate supports two front-end interfaces (gateways) that can be used individually or in conjunction with each other. This allows WebGate to receive messages from multiple sources, and deliver the messages to wireless messaging devices (including alphanumeric pagers, numeric pagers, mobile phones, PIMs, etc.) The front-end interfaces include: an Email gateway interface that enables email messages to be accepted and delivered by WebGate, and a CGI web server interface that allows messages to be sent directly from web pages.
WebGate's modularity (WebGate's modules can be run across several separate machines), scalability (direct cable connection and support for multiple dialers), multiple front-end interfaces, and high-end features (group paging, on-call groups, ad-hoc paging, etc.) makes it a perfect solution for most wireless messaging needs.
WebGate is just one of NotePage Inc.'s paging solutions:
NotePager Net is a local area network client/server paging solution. The client workstations run an easy-to-use point-and-click graphical interface, while the server has the responsibility to for deliverying messages for the entire network.
PageGate contains the functionality of both WebGate and NotePager Net, but also adds a Commandline/Ascii interface that enables it to integrate with many custom and off-the-shelf applications.
